What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device, or similar storage such as localStorage. They can remember a choice, keep a session, or help a host count visits. They are not programmes, and refusing analytics cookies on this site does not stop pages from opening.
Types we use
Essential. Needed to remember that you have seen the banner and chosen Accept or Reject. Without this, the banner would return on every page load. These do not profile you.
Analytics. Used only if you press Accept. They help us see which rooms and journal essays are read, in aggregate. They are not required for enrolment correspondence or for reading the syllabi.
We do not run advertising cookies. We do not drop a cookie because you hovered on a fee.
Cookies table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| configSyncpoint_cookieConsent | Stores Accept or Reject so the banner does not return. Held in localStorage rather than a classic cookie. | Until you clear site data or choose again | Config Syncpoint (first party) |
| csp_room_read | If you accept analytics: a coarse page-path mark so we know which rooms are opened. Not set on Reject. | Up to 6 months | Config Syncpoint (first party) |
| _host_session | Optional hosting session used by some static hosts for traffic integrity. Not used to identify you to the house. | Session | Site host (third party infrastructure) |
How to manage or disable cookies
Use Accept or Reject on the banner. Rejecting analytics does not hide programmes, forms, or legal pages. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, or use the browser’s site-permissions panel for config-syncpoint.digital.
Most browsers let you block third-party cookies globally. That will not stop the essential preference above from working, because it is stored as first-party localStorage.
Third-party cookies
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address when a font file is requested. We do not use a Google Analytics tag unless you have accepted analytics and we have enabled a tag — the default after Reject is that no analytics tag runs.
Images may be requested from Unsplash. That request can include your IP and referrer. Unsplash’s own notices apply to those files. We choose unique image addresses; we do not use them to retarget you.
Impact of disabling
If you reject analytics, we simply know less about which essays are read. The site, forms, and download of syllabi as web pages continue. If you block all storage, the banner may reappear each visit; that is inconvenient, not a lock-out.
Personal data connected to cookies is described further in the privacy notice.
